Hugh Crawford Reserve

The Hugh Crawford Reserve is Public Conservation Land. This 75ha block incorporates regenerating native forests, waterways and wetlands. The reserve is home to taonga species such as Northland Brown Kiwi, Matuku-hurepo (Australasian Bittern), Matata (FernBird) as well as many other birds, native fish and plant species.
How you can help
Volunteers currently help with predator control, plant pest control and neighbours are kaitiaki for the wetland in Old Mill Lane where wetland birds, fish and other species are monitored.
