Mangarakau Swamp Matuku Muster
About
Mangarakau has a resident population of Matuku-hurepo - most years acoustic recorders are placed out to confirm boom records by Friends of Mangarakau Swamp. In 2025 we started a team of musterers' to help listen for males on The Great Matuku- Hurepo Muster for counts in Oct and Nov. We aim to have a team to help detect female behaviour there too as part of the program 'Where the future sits'
